When I look back on how my own love for gardening began, it wasn’t from reading a manual or picking out plants at a garden center. It started with simple, quiet moments—following my mother through her garden beds, watching the way her hands worked the soil, and holding the plastic plant tags while she dug holes. Years later, watching Ed out in the shade beds with our own family, I’m reminded that a green thumb isn’t something you’re born with. It’s something that gets planted in your heart when you’re young.
